What Cleaning Agent does the Beer Factory Use to Clean the Beer System Equipment?

In our layout design of the beer factory, we also often recommend that our customers install the CIP system to clean the Beer System Equipment, but we also know that there will be a CIP system cleaning in the initial stage due to funds or space. So how should the beer factory that does not install the CIP system should be cleaned by its own Beer System Equipment, and which cleaner should be used? In this short guide, we will discuss commonly used standard cleaning chemicals.

For most beer equipment equipment, you need to wash the heaviest dirt first, then clean the remaining organic matter, rinse again, and then disinfect.

Alkaline

Alkaline (sodium hydroxide) is a corrosive alkaline cleaner, soluble organic matter, making it an ideal choice for clean beer containers, fermentation tanks and plate heat exchangers. It is easy to dissolve in water, and the formula can be used to be more cold or heat -resistant. However, it may also lead to severe chemical burns and must be handled carefully.

The cheapest alkali form is solid, but this is not suitable for brewing. Because sodium hydroxide is very rough, it will damage components and pads. In addition, it is difficult to use, if inhaling its dust can damage the respiratory, eyes and skin. In brewing, sodium hydroxide is most commonly used in the form of liquid, adding various additives to improve cleaning, reduce foam and protect various materials.

For equipment with hot tanks, it is usually rinsed with a 80 ° concentration of 1%. If the dirt is severe, it can increase it to 1.5%concentration. When it is used for flushing the fermentation tank, the temperature of the alkali solution can be not so high, but the cleaning efficiency is more clean at the temperature of hot or warm. It should be noted that sodium hydroxide will be neutralized by carbon dioxide, so it is necessary to ensure that the carbon dioxide in the tank has been eliminated before cleaning the alkaline solution to prevent the cleaning effect.

When cleaning the alkali solution, it is best to circulate it into the container by spraying the ball to ensure that the internal is completely cleaned. The lower concentration of alkaline solution (about 0.3 - 1%) can also be immersed in pipes and heat exchangers to slowly decompose stubborn substances. To clean the heat exchanger, it should be re -circulated in the opposite direction of the flow of beer to capture any solid with a filter. In order to get the best results, another cycle is circulated in containers, pipelines, and heat exchangers for 30 to 60 minutes.

Peracetic acid

Portraitic acid is a powerful disinfection agent and sterilizer used for disinfection equipment for brewing. Higher concentration (1%) peroxide can be used to kill stubborn bacteria and fungal infections. However, it is often used as a disinfectant (about 0.1%) as a flushing disinfection agent (about 0.1%). To get the best results, please circulate about 30 minutes.

This is a kind of dangerous acid. Pay attention to avoid splashing it on the skin and eyes, because severe chemical burns may occur. It has a strong vinegar, but don't try to smell it!

Portraitic acid can be decomposed into acetic acid (vinegar) and oxygen. Therefore, it is not an ideal choice after washing the bottle or other fermented, because it will introduce oxygen to the finished beer.

Rinseless disinfection agent

Safe and free -rinse disinfection agents are useful around the beer factory and have many applications. It is disinfected on the surface and equipment by various reagents in food -grade mixed detergents and cosmetics. It can be used for disinfection bottle and packaging equipment, because unlike peroxylcetic acid, it does not break down oxygen. In addition, you can put it in a spray bottle and disinfect it before using the pads and equipment.

Phosphate/nitric acid

This acid mixture can be used for passivating stainless steel containers, but it is most commonly used to remove beer stones and other mines. It does not need to be used frequently, maybe once or twice a year, it must be washed thoroughly after use. On the beer container, about 1% of acid and water mixture between 60-70 ° C is used to remove Beer System Equipment sediments. Round for about 15 minutes. It can also be used for cleaning pipeline and heat exchanger.

For passivated fermentation containers and other stainless steel containers, use 0.5% -1.5% mixture at room temperature and cycle for about 15-10 minutes. After thoroughly rinse.
